Covid-19: Westchester Launches Dashboard With New Data Points; Latest Rundown Of Cases

Westchester County has unveiled its newest tool in fighting the war against COVID-19 with a new dashboard that includes new and more detailed data points for residents at the tip of their fingers.

County Executive George Latimer announced that after several weeks of work, the new dashboard is ready to be rolled out, complete with up-to-date statistics in a variety of categories.

According to Latimer, the new dashboard includes:

  • County active case map;
  • COVID-19 test site map;
  • Total confirmed active cases;
  • Total confirmed new cases;
  • Active, new, and cumulative cases by municipality;
  • Total fatalities;
  • Total persons tested;
  • New York State-designated “hot zones;”
  • Positivity rate;
  • Graphs outlining statistics.

The Department of Health was reporting 8,025 active cases in the latest data released earlier this week, including 651 new cases. There have been a total of 1,656 Westchester residents who have died from the virus since the pandemic began.

As of Monday, Dec. 28, there have been 67,931 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Westchester out of nearly 1.4 million tested as the positive infection rate rose to 4.9 percent.

Port Chester remains the county’s only “orange” hotspot, while New Rochelle, Ossining, Peekskill, Port Chester, Tarrytown, and Yonkers remain designed “yellow zones.”
